Somatic Therapy
for Early Childhood Trauma & Healing

We cannot change what happened in childhood, but the way we carry those stories can shift. The narratives we tell ourselves are powerful — and they can be softened, reshaped, and made less painful.

Our bodies, too, hold stories in the form of tension, numbness, or pain. With support, those stories can begin to release, opening space for ease, connection, and a renewed sense of safety within yourself. Healing is possible.

Was It Childhood Trauma?

Childhood trauma isn’t always easy to recognize. Some experiences are clearly traumatic — such as abuse, accidents, surgeries, or loss. But trauma can also be more subtle.

The real question is: were your basic needs met? Did you feel safe, loved, seen, and valued? Were you given space to grow into both autonomy and connection?

Sometimes these essential elements are missing, even when childhood looked fine from the outside. Well-meaning parents may not have been able to provide what their child most needed, and those early gaps can still shape how we feel today.

Different Stories of Childhood

Every story is unique, but here are a few examples of how early experiences can leave lasting impressions. Trauma may look very different from one person to another, but its effects often echo into adulthood in ways we don’t always expect.

Lisa’s story:

Growing up in chaos, Lisa often hid in terror as her father raged. She survived, earned an education, and built a life — but inside she questioned her worth, struggled in her marriage, and lived with constant pain.

Noah’s story:

Hospitalized as an infant, Noah’s every need was anticipated by anxious parents. Even after he grew healthy, he carried self-doubt, racing thoughts, and difficulty setting boundaries into adulthood.

Emily’s story:

Emily’s parents loved her, but they had strong ideas about who she should be. She never felt truly seen or heard. As an adult, she distanced herself, but still carried anxiety and a painful disconnection from her body.

Moving Toward Healing

Whether trauma was loud and visible, or quiet and hidden, the body carries the impact. Somatic Experiencing® offers a way to gently resolve those patterns, helping you reconnect with safety, resilience, and the life you want to live.

You don’t have to carry these patterns alone. Together, we can create space for healing — so you can move forward with greater ease, clarity, and connection.
